The Rossetti Dress
The Rossetti Dress
For The Rossetti Dress I drew inspiration from the ethereal beauty of Pre-Raphaelite art and especially my favourite painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti. As a founding member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, Rossetti was captivated by medievalism, vivid colors, and romantic subjects, evident in iconic paintings like The Blessed Damozel and Proserpine. The Pre-Raphaelite movement, known for its revival of rich detail and symbolism, broke away from the rigidity of academic painting, emphasizing nature, spirituality, and emotional depth. This dress echoes the timeless and wistful elegance of that era, perfect for those who admire art, history, and the romanticism of the past.
